Little People Eat accepts referrals via ERMS from your child’s GP or Allied Health Professional, Paediatrician letter, as well as self-referrals. It can be really helpful to bring or send through any medical records or letters that relate to your child’s health, including your child’s growth records found in their Well Child Tamariki Ora book (if aged 5 or under).

I hold a weekly Friday morning clinic at St Martins Medical Practice (79 Wilsons Rd), or if you prefer, you can book a phone or video consultation in one of my online clinics. If you choose  an online appointment, I will email a link that brings you straight into the virtual waiting room – no apps or downloads required.  Please phone or email to discuss a home visit if this is what you require.

It depends on the problem – in some cases it is helpful eg viewing eating or measuring growth.

Yes Little People Eat can help via online video or telephone consultation.

Many health insurance companies do reimburse some or all of the appointment cost for seeing a Registered Dietitian. Little People Eat can provide an invoice for you to send to your insurer to claim reimbursement. Some levels of cover require a Specialist referral.

This really depends on the nutritional issue. Everyone is different, and we discuss the need for follow up at the end of your child’s first appointment.

I’m a New Zealand Registered Dietitian with current annual practicing certificate, endorsed with Dietitian prescribing rights.  I participate in the New Zealand Dietitians Board Continuing Competency Programme, which ensures that dietetic practice is sound and follows current evidenced based practice. This is achieved by participating in continuing education events, having regular peer review, and being involved in other professional development activities.

New Zealand Registered Dietitians are not permitted by law to use testimonials.  You can be confident of my skills and experience, having provided advice and support to thousands of parents to improve their little person’s nutrition during 10 years as Canterbury’s Community Paediatric Dietitian.

Yes, I am an endorsed prescriber with the Dietitians Board of New Zealand, which allows prescription of a specific list of nutritional products. I can write prescriptions for your child if I have provided their initial prescription or have seen them in person.

Yes, if during our assessment appointment it appears there are further concerns beyond a Dietitian’s scope, with your agreement Little People Eat can refer your child on to a Specialist or other health professional.
